A BIT OF A WALK
By a bit of a walk, I mean that these hotels are about 15 minutes by foot to the Cathedral, for some perspective. To get to most places, you will need to walk through either Old Town or the medieval part of town; the streets are lovely and historical, and the paths are often meandering.
If you take pleasure in a bit of a stroll, and staying somewhere just off the beaten path, this collection is likely a good choice for you. These hotels offer great value, as well as comfortable rooms.

Located in the quieter maze-like alleyways of the medieval area, the Hotel Boutique Petit Monti-Sión is about a 15 minute stroll east of the La Seu Cathedral. The interiors of this modernized 1900s apartment building are what bring this hotel to the list.
The rooms are tasteful with a modern aesthetic of black, white and grays, with tufted headboards and wooden details, and feature a Nespresso machine and kettle. Please note that the showers and bathrooms are separated by thick glass walls, so this hotel might be better suited for people that are not body conscious with one another.
Offering one of Palma's most acccessible nightly rates, there is no pool or spa here - but they do have a small rooftop terrace, and there are also complimentary bike rentals (subject to availability). This neighborhood is undergoing a process of transformation, which is bringing new life to older buildings.

This beautifully restored 1930s townhouse is close to the Mercat de l’Olivar, and thoughtfully features historically preserved elements from its sandstone blocks and iron beams to the tiles and balustrades.
You will get a taste of life in the middle of a normal residential area in a normal Mallorcan row of houses, but with elevated design details. The hotel is the former home of Jaume Alexandre, a journalist and politician who was executed in the Spanish Civil War in 1937. A century later, his two great-granddaughters have refurbished what was their family home into a welcoming hotel.
There are 23 rooms, four of which are superiors with ample terraces. There is no pool or spa - but organic produce from the family farm is used in their restaurant, and guests can relax in the bar or in the library on a mezzanine level.
